Clean crackling wooden wick
What is a wood wick?
Typically, candle wicks are made from either cotton or wood. But, since pure cotton wicks don’t stand up straight, many manufacturers add traces of heavy metals which release into the air when burnt. (Not so nice in your home.) All of our candles are made with wooden wicks because they’re cleaner, always upright, and create that beautiful dancing flame that’s crackly and cozy.
What are the benefits of a wood wick?
Unlike cotton wicks, wood wicks don’t contain traces of heavy metals, so the burn is much cleaner. Not only are wood wicks environmentally friendly, they emit the scent from the candle quicker, they have a friendly crackle that keeps you company and — let’s be honest — they look so nice!
Why does my candle crackle?
Not gonna lie, we love the ambient, clean crackle of our wood wicks. Our wicks crackle for the same reason that fires do — the moisture in the wood heats up when the candle is lit, causing it to boil and release steam. When pockets of steam are released the flame “dances” and the wood emits that satisfying crackle. Mmmm.
What are the benefits of coconut soy wax?
So glad you asked! Soy wax burns 30-50% slower than paraffin wax, providing you a candle that lasts longer. Coconut soy wax is also environmentally friendly, produces minimal to no soot while burning, and releases no harmful toxins into the air.
How long does my candle last?
An 8oz Milk Jar coconut soy candle lasts 40-45 hours with proper wick care.
How is my candle scented?
Milk Jar candles get their rich scents from either essential oils or phthalate-free fragrance oils. Or, in the case of our Elevated collection, both!
